Red Sox V. Mariners

We were lucky enough to get tickets for 2 out of the 4 games the Red Sox were in town. We went Saturday night with Kody and Jenn. Jenn secretly was rooting for the Mariners and I think that was our downfall!Ortiz hit a home run early on which got us very pumped up We got to see Lester pitch a perfect game into the 6th until an error by the center fielder. Then it went all down hill for our beloved Sox. Sunday wasn't much better for the Sox and being razzed by Mariners fans isn't fun as their team isn't good at all. But we took it, as we have loads of players on the DL that will come back and help the team, hopefully soon! Sunday we went with my friends, Terah and Adam.

I finally found a way to get Chip to SMILE when I take a photo! The recipe? Just get him really, really uncomfortable---aka expose him to heights!

Just walking around before the games....

Pioneer Square

This is Pioneer Square. It's one of the oldest parts of Seattle. It's one of my favorite areas. The architecture reminds me of part of downtown Concord.

A walk through Seattle

On Sunday, we parked downtown and walked through the city to the ball park. Seattle is such a pretty city to stroll through.

Kelly and Jessica visit

So we got to see Kody play in a tournament last weekend. We found out that he is one of the players to get hit by pitches the most! Kelly and Jessica were down and it was nice to catch up and see them in person. We also got to meet Jenn, Kody's girlfriend, and she's really sweet. His team didn't place, but we had a fun time cheering him on!

Chip knee update...most likely the last

Chip had his 3 month check up with his surgeon. The doc is very, very pleased with his progress. Normally, he would have to check in again in another 3 months, but the doc said he can go 6 months out! So, basically he is released to do anything and everything but run and jump. Woo hoo!!

Snow & Source lake hike

Today Terah, Monika and I did a 8 mile hike (although, I think the hike to Source lake added an extra mile) to Snow and Source lakes. It had an elevation gain of only 1350 feet so it was nothing like Mt. Si and we were grateful for that fact. Actually, we felt great during and afterward. It was a nice sunny trail the entire way, so we got to work on our tans a little too. Great views and great company. Pito really loved this hike too. He still is king of the mountain!

Waterfalls

Waterfalls, waterfalls so many of waterfalls! We had to hike through them and got to listen to them all day. It was so relaxing and they were so refreshing. Ice cold snow melt water to cool us down.

Snow Lake

Yes, ice is not out on July 10th. We actually had to hike over many piles of snow about 1.5 miles to Snow Lake. We liked it as it cooled us down!
