While Chip was in San Diego this week for an HR conference he found a guy balancing rocks on one another. Kind of crazy huh? As you can see, he didn't get the best weather while he was there. But he did get to hear Al Gore give a speech.
Got a few pics from Terah from Mt Si. We used her timer and my sweat shirt to balance the camera to take a few shots of the 3 of us on the trail. We are already planning our next climb. Sounds like it will be Tiger Mountain in Issaquah. It's supposed to be shorter. Here's hoping! The muscles in my ankles hurt today! What a weird spot to have hurt!
My friends Terah and Monika thought today would be a great day to have girls hike up Mt. Si in North Bend, WA. It's a round trip hike of 8 miles with an elevation gain of 3150 feet. Steep is what you could call it. More like torture with a great view! It was beautiful and I am so glad we went. We had a great time! Can't wait to hike more with the girls....but it may have to wait for the pain in my legs to subside! I think Pito, the pooch, was the only one left with energy after!
Chip is doing great. He had a PT appointment today and it looks like he won't have to go back for more than 1 or 2 more visits. He can get his leg straight on his own without pushing down most of the time and he can bend to 137 degrees. He still has the localized swelling in the same area, but the doctor said he will have swelling for up to a year. Looks like that is going to stay true for now. He is working out on the elliptical daily for 30 minutes and on the weekend he adds another 30 minutes of the bike. He heads to San Diego this Saturday for a conference. I'm green with envy! I get left home alone with the cat.
We went down to catch a few innings to see Kody play with his new team, the Krush. His home field is about 11 miles from our house, so we are expecting to make lots of games. It was good to see Lou and Kody today!
So Chip is recovering very well since he got that anti inflammatory from the surgeon. He now works out on the elliptical daily and today we went on a 40 min bike ride. It felt great to get out and ride! Of course, everyone else was out as we haven't had lots of sun lately, but we didn't let it cramp our style. He has loss muscle mass in that left leg. He lost 1.5 inches in his thigh, 1 inch at the knee and .75 of an inch from his calf. Working out will help gain that back I am sure!
Terah and I went to the Wetlands in Federal Way. I would have never guessed there was such a beautiful area there! We saw so many bunnies that were adorable! Can't wait to go back and finish the trail that was too muddy to finish. Terah says some of the areas reminded her of the notebook. What do you think?
My Friend, Dave, and his cousins started their vacation in the Seattle area. I was lucky enough to be able to catch up with him for dinner and then for a quick trip into the city. It was wonderful to catch up and see one another again as it has been 6 yrs since we have seen one another. We went up the Space Needle, which they discussed jumping off of.....they are adrenaline junkies and have jumped off of every available building in New Zealand and Austraila.......as well as seeing the first Starbucks store. While there we saw a group of zombies....I love what you can see while in Seattle. It's always interesting! If you are wondering what that strange multi-colored building is of..that is the EMP designed by Frank Gehry.
