Chip got his staples out yesterday! He said it wasn't bad, only a few were painful. It took only a few minutes and they were all gone. Now he just has the adhesive strips that will fall off on their own in the next week or so. His swelling has decreased dramatically which helps with his pain level. The physicians assistant let us know he could have swelling for 1 full year in that leg. His deep veins that lead to his heart are clot free. He does have a small block on a surface vein, but the doctors say that is no concern. The best part about that? No more trips to the lab for blood tests! He will concentrate on PT now and check back in with the surgeons office in June. Pipkin is enjoying having Chip home all day everyday PLUS all the piled up pillows that he has around for propping up his foot to battle the swelling. I'm glad someone is getting joy out of all of this!
Glad to hear everything is improving on the leg...I know the swelling and discomfort is irritating, I still had pain and swelling for 9-12 months on my shoulders, but it was worth it. Ken
ReplyDeleteChip drove to the store and back today. The truck seems to fit him well at this time. Poor me, has to drive the 'stang. If he feels up to it, he'll go to work for an hour or so tomorrow. He is feeling much better today and can see/feel the improvements.
